On Friday, January 19, 2007, St.
Peter Chaldean Catholic Diocese celebrated Chaldean Food Festival
organized by the Mar Toma Knights of Columbus Council. Over a
thousand people attended with smiles on their faces and enjoyed the
delicious world of Middle Eastern food. Baklava was among the many
mouth-watering sweets, as well as zlab-ya and dates. The festival
contained many vendor booths and had items for sale such as jewelry,
formal wear dresses, auto insurance, Real Estate, 24 Hour Fitness,
professional photography, etc. Families, men, women, teenagers,
children as well as babies were entertained with the Middle Eastern
music, food, drinks, chatting and most importantly the Chaldean
Heritage and their historical information. The proceeds will go
towards the foundation of the Chaldean Media Center Television
Studio.
