On January 14th
and 15th , the Breath of Life Youth Group
attended an overnight retreat at the San Luis Rey
Mission in Oceanside, California.
The youth dedicated themselves to finding
"Resolution with God," and
opening their hearts to the Lord. Through silent
prayer, confession, and various religious activities,
the youth allowed their relationship with God to grow as
they ventured on a spiritual journey. They were taken
away from their daily lives without technological items
such as cell phones and watches, to help isolate
themselves from the rest of the world, and focus on
their relationship with God.
With the help
of Father Andrew,
the youth group were able to find peace with the world
and themselves and find themselves closer to the Lord
upon their arrival. The youth attended a mass performed
by Father Andrew, as well as participate in the
mission's day of silence, where talking was prohibited
outside of any building. The retreat was an opportunity
for the youth to start off their new year in the right
direction, closer to the church as well as with each
other.
