Breath of Life Lenten Retreat

Saturday March 24, 2007

St. Peter Chaldean Catholic Cathedral

El Cajon, CA

"The Way of the Cross Lenten Day Retreat” of BOL will be on Saturday March 24, 2007 and will start promptly at noon.

Hello all beautiful children of Christ.  Hope everyone’s day is going well.  If not, and if you feel that your cross is a burden on you, just keep in mind that the weight of your cross can never compare to HIS strength.  Remember Station # 5 of the Stations of the Cross- where Simon helps Jesus Carry His Cross, and that each and every one of us has a Simon that helps us with our crosses.  In the same way, we can be like Simon and help others when we see our brother or sister carrying heavy loads, and help them strengthen their shoulders.  Keep all these in mind as we journey with Christ during this Lenten Season.  This reminds us to tell all you guys and girls that every Friday at 8:00 PM, there are Stations of the Cross at St. Peter’s Chaldean Cathedral in English.  If you are planning on going on the Retreat, attending one of these stations is mandatory, as it will prepare us for the Retreat.

Hoping to see everyone's beautiful faces this Saturday and remember to give necessary strength to those who may feel weak as Simon did for Jesus in carrying HIS Cross.  God bless everyone.

"Pray not for a lighter load but for stronger shoulders" ~ St. Augustine of Hippo

Gen 2:7,  The LORD God formed man out of the clay of the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life, and so man became a living being.

Jn 20:20-23, When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord. (Jesus) said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, so I send you." And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them, "Receive the holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sins you retain are retained."
