Dear Friends,
The pacha and
kulachi is mostly
digested and the
leftovers are about
all gone. The night
has grown silent
from the phone calls
and loud cheerful
laughs of family and
friends. Some may
have already
forgotten it is
still
Christmas.
Not Chaldeans. We
still count our
blessings.
We are blessed to be
safe, have work,
plenty of food to
eat, warm bed to
sleep in, family and
friends to care for
us, and the right to
practice our faith.
We can not forget
for one second the
many gifts we should
be thankful for in
our lives. We all
know the best gifts
never come wrapped
in color paper or
can be bought from
any store. Let us
all be grateful.
In
the New Year...
-
We pray that our
people are kept
safe at work, at
home, and while
on the run from
their
persecutors.
-
We pray that the
numbers of those
working to help
others swell.
-
We pray that the
refugees forced
to live
inhumanly are
comforted.
-
We pray
that those lost
in the sea of
freedoms are
rescued.
-
We pray
that you soften
the hearts of
more Chaldeans
and guide them
to take a more
active role in
their
community. We
are all in need
of help.
In
return Lord for the
New Year we commit
to asking...
-
That whoever
reads this
message to share
a kind and
encouraging word
with another.
-
That you please
support Chaldean
businesses and
organizations
that give back
to the
community.
-
That you
forgive those
that has
trespassed
against you.
-
That the New
Year emboldens
us all to
proclaim our
faith as a
Chaldeans by the
way we live; a
life of faith,
generosity,
cooperation, and
respect.
May God continue to
bless us all and may
we have the ability
to acknowledge our
gifts and understand
our purpose. For He
will make us
stronger in the face
of trouble and
temptation and give
us the courage to
sacrifice for the
good of our
community.
The staff at
www.CHALDEAN.org
pray that the
blessings of this
year be doubled in
2008 for you and
your family. May
you continue your
Christmas in
merriment and
journey into a new
year with renewed
hope, success, and
wisdom.
And
to those we love who
have found it
especially hard this
Christmas due to the
passing of a loved
one, we share with
you the below link
to a heartfelt
video. May the
video and the
knowledge that your
people, along with
God, understand your
pain. We are here
to support you.
Please know that you
are not alone and
that your community
also mourns with
you. We pray this
brings you
additional peace and
comfort.
Should we ask why -
Know that God
understands.
