“Looking Forward Together”

Celebrating the Ecclesiastical Unity of

Assyrian Catholic Apostolic Dioceses

With

St. Peter Catholic Diocese for Assyrians & Chaldeans

It has been a year since we celebrated the unity between the Assyrian Catholic Apostolic Diocese (ACAD) with our diocese of St. Peter Catholic Diocese of Assyrians & Chaldeans in San Diego. The faithful supporters of His Excellency Mar Bawai Soro began their journey for more than four years ago, which it finally ended within our diocese. With the encouragement of His Excellency Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo, who has been a strong advocate for both ecclesiastical unity among our sister churches and also the unity among Assyrians and Chaldean on the nationalistic front, this camp of Assyrians of the Church of the East finally joined their brethren in the Chaldean Catholic Church in April of 2008.

St. Paul Assyrian-Chaldean Catholic Church of the East has been working toward this unity and this year on June 28, we’re celebrating the first anniversary of this ecclesiastical unity with the presence of both bishops, His Excellencies Mar Sarhad Yawsip Jammo and Mar Bawai Soro.

On Sunday, the celebration of holy mass, ordination of deacons, and the First Communion at St. Paul church, will be followed by the receiving of certificates for the first communion and also honoring the graduates (high school and higher education degree) in the Garden Party at Rancho Cordillera del Norte, located at 9015 Wilbur Ave., Northridge (south of Nordhoff Ave., between Reseda & Tampa). The party starts from 2:00PM and continuing till 10:00PM, with plenty of food of both Assyrian & Chaldean cuisines, games for children, music, and lots of fun!

We’re also taking advantage of this opportunity to introduce the businesses and the business owners to our parishioners. If you have a business that you would like to advertise about it, bring your flyers and business cards with yourself to this event. For more information please contact church at (818) 765-3665.
