Maestro
Raad George is a musical transcriber who works for “St. Peter Chaldean
Catholic Diocese-USA” he leads St. Peter’s, St. Michael’s and some of the
Michigan’s Chaldean Choirs. He left San Diego on February 18, 2006 to finalize
the last CD of the “Easter hymns” in Troy, Michigan. He was one of the best
known pianists in Iraq and is now popular in the US. Raad George has worked on
three other volumes of “Babylonian Harp” CD’s that include Christmas
hymns and other enchanting hymns.
The
fourth CD is about Easter; it contains nine hymns that cover the “Easter”
starting from Sunday Palms to Holy Thursday, Good Friday, concluding with Sunday
Easter. This CD, as well as the other three CD’s are all accomplished by Bishop
Sarhad Jammo, Raad George, and St. Joseph Choir in Troy (MI).
The
process took two full years for the team to finalize this job. The traveling
time from San Diego to Detroit delayed the work. Raad frequently travels to
Michigan to adjust, record the songs, and find the convenient time for him and
for the choir singers to record the songs.
The
new CD is a production of “The Chaldean Academy.” Bishop Sarhad Y. Jammo
wrote the text for some hymns and adjusted it for the others (the liturgical
once) as well.
“Easter CD” will be first debuted in Easter 2006; be ready to listen to high
quality music and holy words soon!!
