Celebration of  the feast of St. Anthony  &  Election of the new “General Superior”
Iraq/ Alqosh

The celebration of  the feast of St. Anthony , patron of the monks was on Jan 17^th, 2006. It took place in Al-Sayedah Monastry – Alqosh, Iraq. We have celebrated together the election of the new “General Superior” for the Chaldean Monks, Fr. Jebrael Toma. He will be the general superior for the period between 2006-20011.

Bishops present in this event were:

- Most rev. Ablahad Sanna : Alqosh (retired).

- Most rev. Mikha Makddassi : Alqosh

- Most rev. Petrus Harbuli : Zakho

Along with the bishops, number of clergy coming from Mosul northern Iraq were present in the monastry to congratulate the order of Chaldean Monks for their feast and election. Fr. Felix Shabi –from our Diocese-was present too to participate this ecclesiastical event. Fr. Noel Georgees from North Hollywood was there too for the elections.
